Davao City Fire Victims Receive P10,000 Housing Aid Each

DAVAO CITY — Hundreds of fire victims in Davao City were provided emergency housing assistance by the National Housing Authority in Davao Region (NHA-11), receiving a total of PHP3.2 million to help them rebuild their lives.

According to Philippines News Agency, NHA-11 Manager Clemente Dayot confirmed that 382 individuals from seven different villages were each granted PHP10,000 through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) on Friday night. Dayot further mentioned that additional aid is set to be distributed to 417 fire victims from Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte for incidents that occurred in 2023 and will occur in 2024.

The funding for these initiatives, amounting to around PHP 200 million, was facilitated through the office of Senator Christopher Lawrence Go. During the distribution event, Senator Go not only oversaw the aid handover but also provided the beneficiaries with grocery packs, sports equipment including basketballs and volleyballs, hygiene kits, and vitamins, aiming to address both immediate and ongoing needs of the affected residents.
