4 Ranking Police Officials Assigned New Roles in PNP Reorganization

MANILA: Four high-ranking officials within the Philippine National Police (PNP) have been appointed to new positions as part of the organization’s recent restructuring efforts. The move, initiated by PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, took effect on Saturday following an order issued on October 17.

According to Philippines News Agency, the reshuffle sees Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta stepping into the role of officer in charge (OIC) for the office of the deputy commander of the Area Police Command (APC) in Southern Luzon. Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas, previously the Northern Police District (NPD) Director, has been designated as the OIC for the office of the deputy commander of APC-Northern Luzon.

In the wake of these changes, Col. Villamor Tuliao has been appointed as the OIC of the EPD, succeeding Asueta, while Col. Josefino Ligan will take over as the OIC of the NPD, following the reassignment of Gapas. Gen. Marbil has stated that the reorganization is intended to stra
tegically position officials who are best suited for their forthcoming roles and responsibilities within the PNP.

The reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to ensure that the PNP maintains a high level of operational effectiveness and readiness across its various divisions. As the police force continues to face evolving challenges, these leadership changes are seen as crucial for maintaining stability and enhancing the PNP’s capability to address public safety concerns.
