Ako Bicol Party-List Delivers Health and Livelihood Aid to Over 500 in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY — Over 500 residents from six barangays in Tabaco City, Albay, benefitted from comprehensive medical, dental, and livelihood support provided by the Ako Bicol (AKB) Party-list through their “Tarabangan Caravan” on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, AKB Representative Raul Angelo Bongalon emphasized the caravan’s commitment to extending crucial government services to underserved areas. “We are visiting various towns across six provinces, and this is our 22nd Tarabangan Caravan,” Bongalon stated, highlighting the initiative’s widespread impact.

Local residents expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance. Fifty-nine-year-old Alicia Brozo from Barangay Bantayan thanked the AKB for the free medical services that alleviated her leg pain, a significant relief given the usual costs of healthcare. Mercy Boncodin, 42, from Barangay Bangkilingan, also appreciated the accessible medical check-ups and free medication that addressed her chest pains.

Additionally, Gigi Bon from Barangay San Antonio, who suffers from asthma, was relieved to receive medication she could not otherwise afford. “I didn’t have the money for my asthma medicine, so thank you, AKB. I really appreciate this,” she noted.

The event also provided other services such as haircuts, massages, snacks, and distributed essential supplies like sacks of rice to the participants. Furthermore, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted training sessions on basic solar power installation, adding a sustainable element to the immediate aid by empowering residents with new skills.
