Bacolod City Named Most Business-Friendly Highly-Urbanized City by PCCI

Bacolod city: Bacolod City has been awarded the title of Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit in the Provincial Highly-Urbanized Cities category by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). This recognition, which Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez described as a ‘victory for all Bacolodnons,’ was announced during the PCCI’s 50th Business Conference and Expo held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Bacolod City emerged as the winner among four other finalists, including Iloilo, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, and Mandaue. This marks the third time Bacolod has received this prestigious award, having previously won in 2021 and 2007. The PCCI acknowledged Bacolod’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and business-friendly environment that stimulates growth and innovation, recognizing its exemplary policies and initiatives that empower local entrepreneurs and attract investments.

lf of the city, highlighting the commitment of Bacolod to create an environment where businesses can thrive. The city’s recognition by the PCCI as the 2024 City Level 1B winner underscores its role as a benchmark for effective governance and a catalyst for progress in the community.

Frances Mae Llamas, head of the Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions, noted that the award affirms Bacolod’s initiatives to nurture the business environment and strengthen partnerships with the business sector. She extended gratitude to the local business community, including the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bacolod Entrepreneurs United, for their contributions to increasing economic and employment opportunities in the city.
