Billlie Celebrates Full-Group Comeback with New EP “appendix: Of All We Have Lost”

SEOUL: South Korean girl group Billlie marked their full-group comeback on Wednesday with the release of their fifth EP titled “appendix: Of All We Have Lost.” This EP is the group’s first release with all seven members since March last year, following a hiatus due to health issues among members.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the album signifies a significant moment for the septet, as it is their first complete group release since their last EP, “the Billage of perception: chapter three.” The journey back to this release was challenging for the group, particularly for members Suhyeon and Moon Sua, who had paused their activities due to health concerns. Suhyeon took a break in June last year, and Moon Sua followed three months later, grappling with personal challenges after the loss of her brother, Moonbin from the boy group Astro.

During a press showcase in Seoul, Moon Sua shared her thoughts on the group’s reunion and the new album. “It’s been a while since we all practiced together. We prepared joyfull
y, thinking about how to show a great performance to the fans who waited for us,” she said. Moon Sua highlighted the efforts made to maintain the group’s unique identity and growth during their time apart.

The new EP consists of six tracks, including the lead tracks “Memory Candy” and “Trampoline.” “Memory Candy” is particularly notable as it features lyrics by K-pop star IU, marking a first-time collaboration. Moon Sua expressed gratitude for the collaboration, noting IU’s ongoing support for Billlie. The track focuses on the theme of regaining precious memories and emotions, a recurring motif in the group’s latest work.

“Trampoline,” the other lead track, was released earlier as a pre-release single. It is a nu-jazz track that evokes childhood memories and conveys a message of hope and resilience, according to member Haram.

Billlie, who debuted in November 2021, is approaching their third anniversary in the music industry. With this latest release, the group hopes to further establish their reputation a
s trustworthy artists. “We hope our music and performances are highly regarded by our fans and listeners, so they will always trust in what we create,” Haram added.

As they continue their journey in the music industry, Billlie aims to showcase their growth and depth as artists beyond their chart success.
