Blazers Triumph Over Heavy Bombers, Maintain NCAA Lead

SAN JUAN CITY: College of Saint Benilde asserted dominance over Jose Rizal University with an 80-65 victory, securing their position at the top of the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball standings at FilOil EcoOil Centre on Sunday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ian Torres led the Blazers with 16 points, including three three-pointers, alongside two assists and two steals. This marked the Blazers’ fourth consecutive win and their 10th victory in 12 games. Allen Liwag bolstered the effort with a double-double, contributing 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and one steal, while Justine Sanchez added 10 points to the scoreboard.

The Blazers achieved their most significant lead at 73-40 during the fourth quarter. The team aims to secure a top-two finish in the Final Four, which would grant them a twice-to-beat advantage.

On the opposing side, Joshua Guiab led the Heavy Bombers with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. JRU now holds a 3-9 record, tied with San Sebastian College-Rec
oletos. Shawn Argente and Marvin Raymundo also made notable contributions with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
