QUEZON CITY — Carlos Yulo, who captured double gold in men’s gymnastics at the Paris Olympics, was honored on Saturday with a PHP5 million incentive and a renewed endorsement deal by DigiPlus Interactive Group and Arena Plus. The celebration took place at the “Astig Ka, Carlos!” press conference held at Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao.

According to Philippines News Agency, the awards are a recognition of Yulo’s significant achievements in the floor exercise and vault events, which Tanco described as milestones not only for Yulo personally but for aspiring Filipino athletes everywhere. “DigiPlus is immensely proud to support champions like Carlos, whose relentless pursuit of excellence embodies the spirit of the Filipino people,” Tanco stated during his welcome remarks at the conference.

Yulo expressed his gratitude towards DigiPlus and ArenaPlus for their continued support and acknowledged the importance of perseverance in achieving success. “Success does not come overnight. It is made possible with the support of those who believe in you,” Yulo noted, adding that he is “honored to have incredible partners by my side as we chase dreams for the Philippines.”

The gymnast also shared some insights from his journey to Olympic success, encouraging young athletes to remain dedicated and resilient. “I faced a lot of challenges to reach where I am right now. I’m glad I was able to overcome these challenges and I thank God for making my dream of winning medals in the Olympics come true,” said Yulo, who plans to support Filipino athletes at the upcoming Paralympics in Paris.

Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion, who attended the event with Yulo, revealed that training camps abroad are being planned for the 24-year-old gymnast as he prepares for future competitions.
