QUEZON CITY — Paris Olympics double gold medalist Carlos Yulo was honored with PHP5 million in incentives and a renewed endorsement deal during the “Astig Ka, Carlos!” event at Gateway Mall 2 on Saturday. The event was organized by DigiPlus Interactive Group and Arena Plus to celebrate Yulo’s monumental victories in the men’s gymnastics’ floor exercise and vault events.
According to Philippines News Agency, the incentives are a recognition of Yulo’s outstanding performance and his role as a symbol of hope for aspiring athletes. Tanco emphasized that DigiPlus is committed to supporting Filipino champions who showcase determination and excellence. Yulo expressed his gratitude to DigiPlus and ArenaPlus, highlighting the importance of sustained support from partners in achieving sporting success.
Yulo also shared insights into the challenges he faced on his journey to Olympic glory, emphasizing the value of hard work and determination. He announced plans to support the Filipino Paralympians in Paris, underscoring his ongoing commitment to the sports community.
Cynthia Carrion, president of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, stated that future training camps abroad are planned for Yulo to ensure continued success in upcoming competitions.
