Cesinha Secures K League’s Player of the Month Title for September


Daegu: Daegu FC’s forward Cesinha has been named the K League’s top player for September, marking a significant recognition in the South Korean top-flight football league.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Professional Football League (K League) announced on Thursday that Cesinha won the Player of the Month award for September, outperforming three other nominees. During the four games last month, he scored three goals and secured a spot in the Team of the Week on two occasions. This achievement brings Cesinha’s total to six Player of the Month awards, the highest in the history of K League 1.

Over the course of this season, Cesinha has notched 11 goals and contributed seven assists. His 18 total goal involvements rank him second overall in the league standings. The selection process for the Player of the Month involved multiple stakeholders, including the K League’s technical study group, which accounted for 60 percent of the vote, fans who participated through the K League website making up 25 per
cent, and players from EA Sports FC Online comprising the remaining 15 percent. Cesinha led the polls across all voting categories, garnering 21.6 percent of the votes from the technical group, 14.98 percent from fans, and 11.32 percent from online gamers.
