Coast Guard Lifts Travel Suspension in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands

Surigao city: The Coast Guard Stations in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands have lifted the temporary sea travel suspension, allowing voyages to resume following the improvement in weather conditions. The suspension, which was implemented on Tuesday, had affected areas including Siargao and Bucas Grande due to Tropical Storm Kristine.

According to Philippines News Agency, the weather bureau PAGASA lifted the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 for these areas on Thursday morning, prompting the Coast Guard to allow sea travel once again. The Coast Guard advisory stated, “With the improvement of weather and sea conditions, this station hereby lifts the temporary suspension of voyages.” Despite the lift, vessels have been urged to remain cautious during periods of unfavorable weather.

The travel suspension had been a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and crew amid adverse weather conditions. The decision to lift the suspension is expected to ease transportation and logistics in the af
