DAR Crowns First Bb. Agraryo; Recognizes Women’s Role in Agrarian Reform


MANILA: The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) crowned its first Bb. Agraryo 2024, highlighting the significant role women play in advancing agrarian reform, gender equality, and rural development. Gean Ariane Ponce from the Central Luzon office was awarded the title, which positions her as DAR’s Ambassadress for Agrarian Reform.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ponce will lead initiatives to promote women’s empowerment and advocate for gender equality throughout the country. Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III emphasized the department’s dedication to empowering women through platforms like Bb. Agraryo 2024. He stated, “This platform not only celebrates their beauty and talent but also acknowledges their commitment to advancing gender equality and supporting rural communities.”

The Bb. Agraryo 2024 pageant serves as a recognition of women’s essential contributions to the department’s goals. Beyond showcasing physical beauty and talent, contestants from various DAR offices presented their a
dvocacies for gender equality and agrarian justice. Precious Joezhel Mortel from the Bicol Region was crowned Bb. Luzon 2024 and also received five special awards, including Social Media Star and Best in Evening Gown. Josephine Realubit from Zamboanga Peninsula was named Bb. Visayas 2024, while Angelica Valenzuela from the Finance, Management, and Administration Office (FMAO) secured the title of Bb. Mindanao 2024.

Leslie Ann Carin from the Davao Region won the Sulong Agraryo Award for Best Advocacy Video, and Hazel Diego from Mimaropa was honored with the Best in Talent and Miss DITO Telecommunity Award.
