Davao Authorities Seize PHP1-Million in Illegal Drugs Over Two-Day Operation


DAVAO: Authorities in Davao have seized over PHP1 million worth of illegal drugs in a two-day operation, resulting in the arrest of 26 individuals linked to drug activities, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 reported.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operations took place on October 17 and 18, with law enforcement officials confiscating approximately 113 grams of suspected shabu and 0.01 grams of marijuana on the first day. These drugs have an estimated street value of PHP768,795. On the following day, authorities seized an additional 49.9 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP339,626.

In addition to these operations, a separate raid was conducted on October 16 by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other units, leading to the dismantling of a drug den in Barangay San Antonio, Mabini, Davao de Oro. Multiple suspects were apprehended during this operation, and authorities confiscated plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP102,000, along with various drug paraphernalia. The suspects are
currently held at the Mabini Municipal Police Station and the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, where charges are being prepared.

Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, acting Director of PRO-11, emphasized the significance of these operations, stating, “This operation underscores PRO-11’s unwavering commitment to combating illegal drugs and dismantling criminal organizations in the Davao Region.”
