DHSUD Provides Unconditional Cash Aid to Albay Typhoon Victims.

Albay: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has initiated the distribution of unconditional cash assistance to victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, internationally known as Trami, in Albay. This initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for a comprehensive aid mechanism for those affected by the storm.

According to Philippines News Agency, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar emphasized the agency’s commitment to offering all possible support to affected individuals. This includes cash assistance, a moratorium on loan payments, and potential relocation for those in danger zones. The DHSUD Regional Office 5 spearheaded the distribution efforts, reaching 60 families in Daraga through the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP).

The assistance targeted families with damaged residences, wherein 57 families reported partial damage. These families hail from various villages, including Ibaugan, Lacag, Budiao, Busay, Bagumbayan, Kiwalo, Sa
n Vicente Pequeño, Ilawod, Malobago, Cullat, Market Site, and Pandan. Under IDSAP, PHP30,000 is provided to families with totally damaged homes, and PHP10,000 to those with partially damaged properties, due to both natural and man-made disasters.

Furthermore, DHSUD has instructed its key shelter agencies to impose a moratorium on housing loan payments for its members residing in areas affected by Storm Kristine.
