Seoul: Doosan Group has proposed a merger between its subsidiary Doosan Bobcat Inc., a key player in the construction equipment sector, and Doosan Robotics Inc., its robotics division.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the boards of Doosan Robotics and Doosan Enerbility Co., which is a parent company of Doosan Bobcat, have approved a plan to merge. The merger aims to integrate the construction equipment expertise of Doosan Bobcat with the advanced robotic technology of Doosan Robotics.
The approved merger ratio between Doosan Robotics and a new unit of Doosan Enerbility has been set at 1 to 0.043. This strategic move comes after a previous attempt in August to merge these units was abandoned due to insufficient shareholder support. This renewed effort underscores Doosan Group’s commitment to consolidating its technological capabilities and enhancing its market competitiveness.
