Dumaguete City Police Arrest High-Value Suspect with P1.7 Million Worth of Shabu


Dumaguete City – In a late-night operation, Dumaguete City police apprehended a 40-year-old male suspect from Valencia town and seized PHP1.7 million worth of shabu, marking a significant crackdown on illegal drug trade in the region.



According to Philippines News Agency, Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), detailed that the suspect, a resident of Purok Iba, Barangay Palinpinon, was arrested near midnight on Monday in Barangay Candau-ay. Classified as a “high-value individual” by the police, the suspect was caught during a buy-bust operation selling shabu to an undercover agent at Purok Yellow Tops.



During the arrest, authorities confiscated approximately 250 grams of suspected shabu. The suspect is currently detained as police prepare to formally file charges against him. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to curb the narcotics trade in the area.
