In response, over 160 personnel and 51 pieces of fire equipment were dispatched to tackle the fire.

The fire is believed to have originated from a cold storage facility inside the warehouse, which was still under construction at the time. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as all construction workers had vacated the premises upon completing their work. The fire did not extend to any adjacent buildings.

Cha
llenges arose for firefighters due to the warehouse’s construction materials, including sandwich panel structures and a large amount of combustible materials. Efforts are ongoing to extinguish the remaining flames. The warehouse serves a critical role in distributing equipment for the USFK, receiving goods via the Busan port for delivery to units stationed throughout the country.
