MANILA—First Lady Liza Marcos celebrated her 65th birthday with a quiet family gathering in Baguio City, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. revealed in an interview on Thursday. The First Lady, known for preferring low-key celebrations, marked the occasion privately with her family.



According to Philippines News Agency, president Marcos shared that the celebration took place last Thursday and was a simple affair, reflecting the First Lady’s desire for a peaceful birthday. The President also took to social media on Wednesday to express his gratitude to his wife for her contributions to their family.



Born on August 21, 1959, in Manila, Liza Marcos met Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in New York while pursuing her legal career in 1988. The couple married in Fiesole, Italy, in 1993, and they have three sons: Ferdinand Alexander, Joseph Simon, and William Vincent.
