Fishery Products Boost Sales at Antique Kadiwa Event


ANTIQUE: Fishery products emerged as a key attraction for consumers at the recently concluded five-day Kadiwa ng Pangulo event in Antique, leading to a significant sales milestone. The event, which closed on Thursday, generated a total revenue of PHP227,751 for exhibitors.

According to Philippines News Agency, this was the first time processed fishery products and salt from other provinces were introduced at the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, thanks to the support of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. Ge Anthony Recopuert, the community affairs officer and Kadiwa coordinator for the Antique provincial government, highlighted the contribution of these products in drawing consumers. “Fishery products such as squid crackers, dried fish, and salt from Iloilo province were sold,” Recopuerto stated.

The event also marked the first participation of exhibitors from the Iloilo and Guimaras provinces, further diversifying the product offerings available to consumers. Looking ahead, Recopuerto mentioned plans to invit
e handicraft makers and gemstone processors to the next Kadiwa event at the Business Park from November 17 to 21, aiming to provide consumers with potential gift items for the upcoming holiday season.

In addition to boosting sales, the event also supported exhibitors financially. The Department of Labor and Employment provided a daily wage of PHP480 to the exhibitors through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) program, ensuring financial support throughout the event’s duration.
