FM Cho to hold talks with Brazil’s top diplomat next week

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul will hold talks with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira next week on a range of issues, including trade, investment, energy and people-to-people exchanges, Cho’s office said Tuesday.

At the talks, planned for Wednesday, the two sides will discuss high-level exchanges, and efforts to enhance bilateral relations in trade, industry, investment, energy and science and technology, foreign ministry spokesperson Lee Jae-woong said in a press briefing.

The ministers also plan to sign a memorandum of understanding on a working holiday program, under which young South Koreans can work in Brazil and young Brazilians can work in South Korea.

Brazil established diplomatic relations with South Korea in 1959, becoming the first Latin American country to do so.
