Seoul: Hana Financial Group announced on Tuesday that its third-quarter net income reached 1.16 trillion won (US$838.6 million), marking a 20.4 percent increase from the previous year. The financial giant revealed these figures in a recent regulatory filing, highlighting a robust performance amidst challenging market conditions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company’s operating profit for the quarter amounted to 1.33 trillion won, up from 1.18 trillion won in the same period last year. However, the group’s revenue experienced a decline, falling 38.8 percent to 10.92 trillion won. Despite the revenue drop, the earnings surpassed market expectations, which had predicted a net profit of 1.04 trillion won, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
