Heavy Rain Expected Across Major South Korean Cities on Friday


SEOUL: The weather forecast for South Korea’s 12 major cities indicates a high probability of rain in most areas at 9:01 a.m. Friday, with Seoul and Incheon expecting 80% chances of rainfall and temperatures ranging from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the majority of South Korea’s central and southern regions will face rainy conditions, impacting cities like Suwon, Cheongju, Daejeon, Jeonju, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan. Suwon and Cheongju are forecasted to experience temperatures from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius with a 70% likelihood of rain. Daejeon, similarly, will see temperatures ranging between 16 to 22 degrees Celsius with an 80% chance of rain, while Jeonju, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan will experience slightly higher temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius, with rain probabilities ranging from 60% to 70%.

In contrast, Chuncheon and Gangneung in the northern regions are expected to remain sunny, with both cities having an 80% probability of clear skies and temperatures from 14 to 21
degrees Celsius. Jeju Island will have the mildest conditions among the cities with cloudy skies and a lower chance of rain at 30%, alongside warmer temperatures ranging from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius.

Residents and visitors in these areas are advised to prepare for the weather conditions, especially in cities with high chances of rain, where appropriate precautionary measures such as carrying umbrellas and raincoats are recommended.
