Hyundai and Kia Set to Break U.S. EV Sales Record with 100,000 Units This Year

Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Corp. are on the brink of setting a new record in the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market, as they expect to surpass combined sales of 100,000 units this month, a significant milestone reflecting growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly vehicles.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai and Kia have demonstrated a robust performance in the EV sector throughout the year. Data released by the companies shows that they sold a total of 91,348 EVs from January through September, marking a 30.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Individually, Hyundai’s EV sales increased by 4.5 percent to 48,297 units, while Kia experienced a dramatic rise of 80.3 percent, reaching 43,051 units.

Industry analysts anticipate that the combined EV sales figures for Hyundai and Kia will reach 100,000 units in October and project that the total could climb to 120,000 by the end of the year. This growth is indicative of the strong market presence and consumer
confidence in Hyundai and Kia’s EV offerings.
