Hyundai Motor Chief Highlights Czech Plant as Pivotal for Eco-Friendly Mobility Development


OSTRAVA – Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Chair:Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Chair, Euisun Chung, recently emphasized the strategic importance of the company’s Czech Republic manufacturing facility, declaring it a central hub for advancing the corporation’s eco-friendly mobility initiatives. During a visit on Thursday, Chung reviewed the plant’s operations and engaged with employees, aligning the visit with South Korea’s Chuseok fall harvest holiday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Chung’s tour of the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) in Ostrava was not just a routine inspection. It was a strategic meet aimed at motivating the workforce and discussing pivotal shifts in the automotive industry, particularly the electrification of vehicles. HMMC stands as Hyundai’s only electric vehicle (EV) production site in Europe, placing it at the forefront of the company’s push into eco-friendly mobility.

Chung addressed the challenges posed by the stagnant European automobile demand and discussed strategies
to navigate these hurdles while reinforcing the transition to electric vehicles. “The Czech plant is a key hub for future investments in our vision and technology for eco-friendly mobility, playing a crucial role in Hyundai Motor Group’s continued success,” Chung remarked during his visit. He assured the employees of the group’s commitment to quality and safety investments and underscored the importance of innovation and growth despite the evolving challenges in the EV market.
