ILLIT Releases New Album “I’ll Like You,” Aiming to Showcase Distinctive Style and Artistic Growth


Seoul: Girl group ILLIT has launched its second EP titled “I’ll Like You,” seven months after their hit debut with “Magnetic.” The new album aims to maintain the unique style that initially captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

According to Yonhap News Agency, during a media showcase in Seoul, group member Yunah emphasized the band’s effort to preserve their distinctive appeal, motivated by the strong support from their fans. Yunah highlighted the group’s commitment to progressing and overcoming challenges, including recent controversies involving allegations from former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. Min Hee-jin had accused ILLIT of copying the choreography and concept of another popular girl group, NewJeans, which led to significant media attention.

Despite these challenges, ILLIT’s debut single “Magnetic” achieved notable success, charting on the U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 and the British Official Singles Top 100. The group’s new EP includes tracks like “Cherish” and the titular “I’ll Like You,” which showcase a b
lend of mature melodies and catchy choruses designed to appeal to a global audience and resonate on social media platforms like TikTok.

Member Wonhee discussed the creative process behind the album, noting that it reflects the personal experiences and thoughts of the group members, which helps in connecting with their audience through relatable themes and lyrics.

With “I’ll Like You,” ILLIT hopes to further expand their musical repertoire and continue building their global fanbase, leveraging their initial viral success and the artistic evolution demonstrated in their latest work.
