MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR: An Indian national engaged in the money lending business survived an ambush by unidentified attackers on Thursday along the national highway in Maguindanao del Sur. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, was attacked while driving through Barangay Labu-Labu in Datu Hoffer Ampatuan town.
According to Philippines News Agency, the assailants fired at the victim, resulting in a gunshot wound to his elbow. Despite the injury, the victim managed to continue driving to the vicinity of Barangay Kauran, where he was rescued by soldiers and subsequently taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, but the victim has yet to provide specific details about his attackers. The motive behind the ambush remains unclear as investigations continue.
