ITCZ Expected to Bring Scattered Rains Across Parts of the Philippines

MANILA: Some regions in the Philippines are forecasted to experience scattered rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), as reported by the national weather bureau on Saturday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released a 4 a.m. bulletin indicating that the ITCZ will cause cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, Davao Occidental, and Palawan.

The bulletin also stated that the ITCZ will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Visayas and the rest of Mindanao. These weather conditions could potentially lead to flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

In contrast, the remainder of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstor
ms, influenced by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. Despite these conditions, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are anticipated to persist throughout the archipelago.
