Job Growth in South Korea Continues with Over 100,000 New Jobs in September


South Korea: South Korea’s employment figures continued to show positive growth, with over 100,000 new jobs added for the third consecutive month in September, according to a recent report.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the total number of employed individuals in the country reached 28.84 million in September, marking an increase of 144,000 from the same month last year. This trend of significant job additions began in July when the figures rebounded, recording 172,000 new jobs, followed by an addition of 123,000 jobs in August.

Furthermore, the employment rate for individuals aged 15-64 increased by 0.3 percentage points, reaching 69.9 percent. Concurrently, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points, settling at 2.1 percent. These indicators collectively suggest a robust recovery and a strengthening labor market in South Korea.
