Korea Interbank Offered Rates Show Minor Fluctuations in Short-Term Lending


SEOUL: The Korea Interbank Offered Rates (KORIBOR) demonstrated minor fluctuations in short-term lending rates, while most rates remained unchanged, as reported by Yonhap Infomax at 11:00 a.m. The rates, which serve as a benchmark for interbank lending in South Korea, showed slight adjustments in the two-month and three-month terms, while other terms remained stable.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the one-week and one-month KORIBOR rates held steady at 3.25% and 3.30%, respectively, showing no change from the previous session. The two-month rate slightly decreased to 3.34% from 3.35%, and the three-month rate also saw a marginal decline, moving from 3.40% to 3.39%. Meanwhile, the six-month and twelve-month rates remained unchanged at 3.36% and 3.21%, respectively.

The KORIBOR rates are indicative of the cost of borrowing funds in the South Korean interbank market and are widely used as a reference for various financial products. The slight adjustments in the rates reflect the current lending environment a
nd can influence financial institutions’ decisions on loans and investments.
