SEOUL: Major South Korean companies listed on the KOSPI 200 index have shown mixed performance in their latest closing prices, with notable fluctuations observed among key players in the market.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several companies on the KOSPI 200 index recorded a varied ending in their stock prices. SK hynix, a leading semiconductor company, saw a significant increase, closing up 5,400 points at 192,900. Similarly, HANWHA AEROSPACE also experienced a substantial gain, rising by 17,500 points to close at 374,000. On the other hand, some companies faced downturns, such as Youngpoong, which decreased by 9,000 points to close at 421,000, and LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp, which dropped by 4,900 points to end at 91,600.
Other notable movements included KorZinc, which saw an impressive rise by 24,000 points to close at 817,000, and SamsungHvyInd, with a modest increase of 350 points to 10,230. In contrast, LG Innotek and KumhoPetrochem recorded significant declines, dropping by 6,100 and 4,100 points to clo
se at 197,400 and 141,900, respectively.
The mixed results reflect the dynamic and volatile nature of the stock market, influenced by various internal and external factors impacting investor sentiment and corporate performance.
