KOSPI 200 Experiences Mixed Movements as Major Stocks Decline.


Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw varied movements today with several major stocks experiencing declines. Notable companies such as Kakao, NCsoft, and KIWOOM faced reductions in their closing prices, contributing to a complex trading day. Kakao closed at 36,150, marking a decrease of 800 points, while NCsoft saw its price fall by 500 points to 217,000. KIWOOM reported a significant drop of 1,800 points, settling at 132,800. Other companies such as HANATOUR SERVICE and KEPCO KPS also witnessed declines of 1,300 and 1,400 points respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, there were some bright spots in the market. COSMAX experienced an increase of 2,300 points, closing at 153,200, while Hanwha Ocean and HD Hyundai Infracore saw modest gains, ending at 26,800 and 6,680 respectively. Additionally, HANAFINANCIALGR and GS reported increases of 1,200 and 350 points. KRAFTON’s closing price rose by 2,500 points to reach 333,500, and HL MANDO ended at 36,900, up by 550 points.

The day was not favorable for all, as
companies like LIG Nex1 and HD HYUNDAI ELECTRIC faced significant declines of 5,000 points each. HD HYUNDAI and Netmarble also reported losses, with reductions of 3,800 and 2,500 points respectively. SK hynix and Youngpoong saw their prices fall by 4,100 and 5,000 points. Stocks such as Doosan Robotics and DOOSAN experienced declines, closing the day 1,500 and 9,200 points lower.

Despite the mixed results, some stocks managed to maintain or improve their positions. DoubleUGames remained unchanged, while Doosan Bobcat and CJ LOGISTICS concluded the day with gains of 400 and 600 points. Kia Corp. marked a notable increase of 2,400 points to end at 94,300, providing some optimism amid the overall market fluctuations.
