Lanao del Norte Commended for Effective Population Management and Improved Reproductive Health Services


ILIGAN CITY — The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) has commended the province of Lanao del Norte for its successful population management efforts, which have contributed to significant improvements in reproductive health services. The recognition highlights the province’s achievements in maintaining a manageable population growth rate and enhancing access to health services for its residents.



According to Philippines News Agency, Lanao del Norte’s annual population growth rate stands at 1.41 percent, with a fertility rate of 1.53 percent. Gahudo noted that these figures underscore the effectiveness of the province’s health and population programs, as well as its commitment to supporting over 161,000 households and 181,000 women of reproductive age.



Gahudo emphasized the broader significance of family planning initiatives in the province, stating that the programs are not just about distributing contraceptives but are crucial tools for family development. The successful management of population growth in Lanao del Norte has led to better reproductive health outcomes, contributing to the overall well-being of its communities.
