Legarda Highlights Cultural Preservation at National Arts and Crafts Fair

MANDALUYONG: Senator Loren Legarda has underscored the significance of preserving cultural traditions and providing artisans with a platform to display their work during the 2024 National Arts and Crafts Fair (NACF) at Megatrade Halls in SM Megamall.

According to Philippines News Agency, Legarda welcomed participants to the fair, which spotlights traditional Filipino arts, crafts, fashion, and cultural heritage. She emphasized the NACF’s role in integrating indigenous arts and crafts into broader markets, thereby offering visibility and new opportunities for local artisans, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and Indigenous communities.

Legarda noted the enduring value of handmade crafts in a technologically driven world, highlighting their role in preserving cultural heritage. She expressed commitment to continue supporting cultural preservation efforts, emphasizing the artisans’ work as integral to Filipino identity.

cts and engage with indigenous artisans, gaining insights into their stories and traditions. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry, Design Center of the Philippines, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the event will run until October 27 with support from Legarda’s office.
