Lions Slugger Park Byung-ho Equals KBO Postseason Home Run Record


DAEGU: Samsung Lions slugger Park Byung-ho has tied the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason home run record with his 14th career home run. Park achieved this milestone after hitting a solo home run in the seventh inning during Game 3 of the Korean Series against the Kia Tigers at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Park’s home run came off reliever Jeon Sang-hyun, helping the Lions secure a 4-1 lead. This home run brings Park level with retired Lions legend Lee Seung-yuop, who also hit 14 home runs in KBO postseason play. Park’s postseason home run tally includes one in the wild card round, nine in the first round, one in the second round, and three in the Korean Series. In comparison, Lee hit six of his postseason homers in the Korean Series, six in the second round, and two in the first round.

Park’s home run against the Kia Tigers was his first hit of the current Korean Series, as he had been 0-for-11 before this game-changing solo shot. Additionally, this was the Lions’ f
ourth home run of the day, matching the record for the most home runs hit by a team in a single Korean Series game.
