LTO Chief Warns Employees Against Colluding with Fixers

Manila: Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, issued a stern warning to LTO employees, stating that any involvement in colluding with fixers will result in administrative sanctions, including possible dismissal from their jobs. The warning follows the launch of investigations into three LTO personnel, including a district office head, for alleged involvement in illegal transactions with external fixers.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LTO conducted two operations this week in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, targeting fixers operating near the LTO Central Office in Quezon City and in Bulacan. In Bulacan, authorities arrested a fixer, Michael Mendoza, along with three LTO employees. A separate operation in Quezon City led to the arrest of 40-year-old Desire Daginod, who allegedly advertised her illegal services on Facebook. Another suspect, Gerlo Gomez, remains at large.

Mendoza emphasized that the LTO will not tolerate any form of illegal activity or collusion between its personnel and fixers.
