Malingin Family Honored as “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya” in Davao de Oro

DAVAO CITY: The Malingin family from Maragusan, Davao de Oro, was named the “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya” for this year by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 11 during a ceremony held on Monday. The family received a plaque and a PHP15,000 cash prize, recognized for their exemplary community values and achievements under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

According to Philippines News Agency, the Malingin family has been part of the 4Ps program since 2011 and has shown significant social and educational progress. Three of his six children have graduated from college, two are currently pursuing higher studies, and the youngest is in secondary school.

The “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya” award is part of an annual initiative by the DSWD to celebrate 4Ps families who demonstrate strong values and contribute positively to their c
ommunities despite economic challenges. The award aims to inspire other beneficiaries by highlighting success stories within the program.

During the same event, Christine Jill Madelo from Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte, was awarded the “Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Child” title, receiving a plaque and PHP10,000 for her role as a model child in her home, school, and community.

The ceremonies underscore the impact of the 4Ps program in nurturing responsible, educated, and socially active citizens among underprivileged families in the Philippines.
