Manila Deploys Rescue Team and Assets to Aid Naga City Amid Storm Aftermath


MANILA: The city government of Manila has dispatched a 14-member team from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) to Naga City to support relief efforts following the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, known internationally as Trami. This initiative is part of a coordinated effort between Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and Naga City officials to assist the storm-affected region.

According to Philippines News Agency, the MDRRMO team embarked on their mission to Naga City on Thursday night, equipped with critical resources including a mobile water filtration system, two rescue boats with outboard motors, two rescue trucks, and a transporter truck. Mayor Lacuna expressed gratitude and encouraged the team through a statement, reassuring that their efforts are vital in providing aid to Naga City.

Furthermore, Mayor Lacuna assured residents of Manila that the city’s emergency response capabilities remain robust, despite deploying resources to Bicol. She emphasized that Manila’s rescu
e teams are prepared to address any emergencies arising from the storm’s effects in Metro Manila, ensuring that sufficient resources are available to meet any local needs.
