Marine Corps Engages in Kamandag Exercise with U.S. and Philippines


SEOUL: South Korea’s Marine Corps announced its participation in the Kamandag exercise, a multilateral military drill led by the United States and the Philippines, marking its third consecutive year of involvement. The exercise, which commenced on October 14, is set to continue for 12 days across various locations in the Philippines.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Kamandag exercise includes approximately 2,300 personnel from five countries: South Korea, Japan, Britain, Australia, and France. The South Korean troops are engaged in multiple training sessions, focusing on enhancing their capabilities in various military and humanitarian operations. This year, South Korean engineers are particularly involved in the maintenance and repair of the Korea Assault Amphibious Vehicles, which have been exported to the Philippines.
