MANILA: The News and Information Bureau (NIB), a governmental media platform operating under the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), has been recognized for its exemplary financial management practices. NIB received the “2025 AGAP Outstanding Accounting Office Award” at the AGAP Annual Convention held at the IEC Convention Center.
According to Philippines News Agency, the accolade was presented by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) Inc., headquartered at the Department of Budget and Management in Malacañang, Manila. Ester Aldana, the national president of AGAP Inc., stated that NIB was honored for its accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and adherence to accounting and budgeting regulations.
The recognition highlights NIB’s commitment to public financial management, aligning with procurement, accounting, cashiering, auditing standards, and other financial functions. Aldana emphasized the convention’s focus on empowering financial managers and practitioners to leverage di
gital innovations in public finance, procurement, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
The program addressed critical areas, including financial accountability and updates on employee social security benefits and privileges. Elvira De Veyra, NIB Audit Team supervising auditor, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted NIB’s unqualified audit opinion and timely report submissions.
