North Korea Destroys Sections of Inter-Korean Roads, JCS Reports

SEOUL: North Korea has demolished sections of roads that link it with South Korea, according to military officials. This aggressive act cuts off vital transportation routes that have historically served as symbols of cooperation between the two Koreas.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) confirmed that North Korea detonated portions of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads just north of the Military Demarcation Line around noon. These roads have been significant for inter-Korean dialogue and exchange, making this destruction a notable setback in relations.

The JCS also reported an increase in surveillance and military readiness in response to the destruction. This development follows North Korea’s recent threats to sever all inter-Korean connections, signaling a possible escalation in tensions on the peninsula.
