North Korean Leader’s Sister Condemns South Korea and Ukraine, Citing U.S. Influence

SEOUL: The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un issued a sharp rebuke against South Korea and Ukraine on Tuesday, accusing the two nations of instigating military provocations against North Korea and likening them to “bad dogs bred by the U.S.”

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Yo-jong, who holds the position of vice department director of the central committee of the ruling Workers’ Party, made her remarks shortly after South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea was deploying troops to support Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine. Kim Yo-jong warned that provoking a nuclear-armed state could lead to catastrophic consequences, unimaginable to politicians and military experts worldwide.

Kim Yo-jong specifically targeted the leadership of South Korea and Ukraine, labeling them as “lunatics” for their actions and rhetoric concerning nuclear weapons. She asserted that the governments in Seoul and Kyiv were comparable in their reckless approach, attributing their behavior to being influen
ced by the United States.

Additionally, Kim indicated that North Korean authorities are investigating claims that South Korea sent drones over Pyongyang, equipped with leaflets critical of the North Korean regime. She warned that North Korea’s response could be severe and unpredictable, emphasizing the discovery of “political motivational rubbish” across various locations in the North.

The statement highlights ongoing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and the complex geopolitical dynamics involving North Korea, the United States, and other regional players.
