PH Fleet, Marines, and Navy Units Launch Inaugural Interoperability Drills.

Subic: Units from the Philippine Fleet (PF), Fleet-Marine Ready Force, and reservists from the Philippine Navy have commenced their first-ever unified exercise to enhance the operational readiness and interoperability of the participants. The exercises, known as ‘Exercise Pagbubuklod, Pagsasama and Pagsisikap 2024,’ began aboard the BRP Tarlac (LD-601) at the Naval Operating Base Subic in Zambales on November 28 and will continue until December 7.

According to Philippines News Agency, the exercises are being conducted both in-port and at sea, involving activities such as subject matter expert exchanges, tabletop exercises, mission planning, field training exercises, and at-sea events. These drills are designed to improve the Philippine Fleet’s proficiency and strengthen the Navy’s capabilities in addressing evolving maritime challenges. Rear Admiral Joe Anthony Orbe, the newly appointed PF commander, emphasized the importance of treating every exercise as a real-world scenario to maximize learnings and exper
iences, identify gaps, test doctrines, and improve operational effectiveness.
