Philippine National Police Conducts Lawful Operation Against Apollo Quiboloy, Asserts PNP Chief

DAVAO CITY — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has affirmed the legitimacy of its operation against Apollo Quiboloy, the fugitive leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), stating that the actions are fully supported by valid arrest warrants.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operation, which began with a raid on the KOJC compound in Davao City on Saturday morning, is rooted in arrest orders issued by courts in Davao City and Pasig City for charges of child abuse and human trafficking involving Quiboloy and five other KOJC members. Gen. Marbil emphasized the importance of adhering to legal processes and the rule of law in a media release following the raid. He called on Quiboloy’s political backers and supporters to demonstrate true leadership by advising him to face the legal charges.

Gen. Marbil highlighted the critical nature of the rule of law, remarking, “As a nation, we are all bound by the rule of law and we must uphold these principles without exception. This matter transcends legal obligations. It serves as a testament to the principle that no one is above the law.” He also warned that any actions obstructing justice or harboring a fugitive are considered serious offenses.

During the operation, the PNP expressed condolences for the death of a male KOJC member who reportedly lost consciousness after being stationed at one of the compound’s watchtowers for several days. Gen. Marbil reiterated the PNP’s commitment to enforcing the law justly and ensuring justice for all involved.

Further securing the scene, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Director of Police Regional Office-Davao, has deployed 2,375 officers to maintain order around the 30-hectare compound.
