BIÑAN, LAGUNA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has confirmed the arrival of over 24,000 automated counting machines (ACMs) in preparation for the May 12, 2025, national and local elections. During a press briefing at a local warehouse, Comelec Chair George Garcia showcased 7,400 of these machines, with an additional 7,000 awaiting release from the Bureau of Customs.

According to Philippines News Agency, the delivery from Miru Systems, a South Korean service provider, has surpassed initial commitments, delivering 4,000 more units than the expected 20,000 for August. The company has also met its obligations concerning other necessary electoral equipment, including laptops for the consolidated canvassing system, printers, cable ties, toners, test ballots, application servers, and database servers.

The total number of ACMs expected by year’s end is 110,000, with 30,000 scheduled for delivery each in September and October, and the remainder by December. The visit to the warehouse was conducted with representatives from various electoral stakeholder groups, including the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections, and Legal Network for Truthful Elections. The Full Automation System with Transparency Audit/Count (FASTrAC) project, valued at PHP18.8 billion, was awarded to a joint venture including Miru Systems Co Ltd, Integrated Computer Systems, St. Timothy Construction Corporation, and Centerpoint Solutions Technologies, Inc.
