PRO6 Deploys 100 Officers to Support Davao City Police Operations Against Fugitive Apollo Quiboloy

Iloilo City – The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) is set to deploy 100 officers to Davao City to bolster the civil disturbance management force there, focusing on the ongoing operations to apprehend Apollo Quiboloy, the fugitive leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC). The personnel, drawn from both the Iloilo City Police Office and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, are preparing for imminent deployment as directed by the national headquarters, targeting support for the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) in their law enforcement efforts.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PRO6 spokesperson, the dispatch consists of 50 officers from each of the two police units in Iloilo. The move follows a directive from the national police headquarters and aims to enhance the ongoing efforts by PRO11. On Monday, PRO6 reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law, highlighting the duty of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to execute lawful orders from judicial authorities, irrespective of personal, political, or religious affiliations.

The statement from PRO6 emphasized the operation’s alignment with the PNP’s mandate to serve and protect, ensuring the equal protection of rights under the law. It also called on the community in Davao and the broader region of Western Visayas to support peace, justice, and adherence to the rule of law during this critical period.

In a related development, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas reiterated the importance of executing the arrest warrants against Quiboloy, urging law enforcement to strictly follow legal protocols. He declined to comment on criticisms from former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte regarding the police operations, labeling their remarks as “irrelevant” to the ongoing law enforcement efforts.
