Seoul: Renault Korea Motors, the South Korean arm of Renault S.A., reported a significant increase in sales, with figures soaring 116.8 percent compared to the previous year, driven by the success of its hybrid models. The company revealed that it sold a total of 12,456 vehicles in October, a substantial rise from 5,745 units sold in the same month last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this surge in sales was primarily attributed to the robust performance of Renault Korea’s hybrid models. Domestic sales experienced a remarkable growth, more than quadrupling to 6,395 units from 1,451 during the corresponding period last year. Additionally, exports saw a 41.2 percent increase, reaching 6,061 units from 4,294.
Renault Korea highlighted that hybrid models constituted over 85 percent of its domestic sales in October. The hybrid model of its new midsized SUV line, Grand Koleos, emerged as the most favored among consumers. On the global stage, the E-Tech hybrid version of the compact crossover SUV, Arkana, l

Despite the impressive October figures, Renault’s overall sales from January to October saw a decline of 17 percent, totaling 77,112 vehicles compared to 92,946 units in the same period last year. However, domestic sales improved by 36.9 percent, reaching 25,437 units in the first ten months of the year, while exports decreased by 30.5 percent to 51,675 units.
