San Carlos City Invests in Advanced Digital Content Creation Equipment

BACOLOD CITY – San Carlos City, located in Negros Occidental, has recently upgraded its digital content production capabilities with the acquisition of PHP2.295 million worth of virtual production equipment. This investment is funded through the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund, aiming to establish the city as a center for innovative media production and bolster regional economic growth.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Renato Gustilo expressed enthusiasm about the new capabilities provided by this acquisition. “This acquisition will greatly enhance our ability to create high-quality digital content and improve our virtual production capabilities, leading to a more visually engaging media experience,” Gustilo stated in a release on Tuesday. The equipment was officially handed over by Department of the Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Teodora Sumagaysay and Local Government Operations Officer VII and Cluster I Head Evelyn Vista in a ceremony held at the city’s multi-purpose hall at Park Marina on Monday.

The new equipment includes a variety of advanced digital tools such as a photo printer, an adjustable multicolored RGB light-emitting diode (LED), professional studio lights, an action camera, a touchscreen on-camera monitor, an enhanced wireless high-definition multimedia interface transmitter, and an LED wall display system package. These tools are expected to significantly boost the city’s digital and virtual production output.

Sumagaysay highlighted the significance of this initiative, noting it reflects a collective dedication to improving governance and public services. She praised Mayor Gustilo for his efforts in keeping public services innovative and attuned to the needs of the community. “San Carlos City remains committed to upholding the SGLG standards and striving for more achievements in the future,” added City Planning and Development Coordinator Magnolia Antonio, underscoring the city’s ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in governance.
