San Sebastian Stags Overcome Letran Knights to Claim Early NCAA Lead


MANILA – San Sebastian College-Recoletos rallied from a 12-point deficit to defeat the Letran Knights, 91-84, securing a share of the lead in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday. The game took place at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.



According to Philippines News Agency, Rafael Are led the Stags with 30 points, including 10 in the decisive fourth quarter. Harold Ricio and Tristan Felebrico contributed 14 points each, while Raymart Escobido added 13 points and five rebounds for the Stags, now tied at the top with San Beda University and College of Saint Benilde.



For Letran, Kobe Monje and James Juma-os scored 16 points each, while Sherick Estrada added 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. The defending champions were coached by Allen Ricardo, previously the head coach of the Squires.



Meanwhile, the NCAA Management Committee has initiated an investigation into an altercation involving a league referee during the CSB-Mapua game at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
