Siargao Named Among Top 10 Islands in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler

BUTUAN CITY – Siargao Island has been recognized as one of the top 10 islands in Asia, according to the latest rankings by Condé Nast Traveler in its “Top Islands: Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.”

According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga region has expressed satisfaction with Siargao’s ranking, which underscores ongoing efforts to enhance the island’s tourist experience while preserving its natural and cultural resources. Director Ivonnie Dumadag highlighted the repeated acknowledgment from the influential travel publication, noting that Siargao has maintained its place among the elite destinations in Asia for the second consecutive year.

The awards, which were announced earlier this month, saw Siargao placed tenth with a score of 89.2%. The island’s consistent appeal was first recognized internationally in 2018 when it was named the top destination in Asia by the same publication. Other Philippine islands also featured prominently in this year’s rankings, with Boracay, Palawan, Cebu, and the Visayan Islands making the list, securing third, sixth, eighth, and undisclosed positions respectively.

The survey by Condé Nast Traveler reflects the preferences of its global readership, providing insights into the regions that are most appreciated by international travelers.
