South Korea to Play Palestine in Jordan for World Cup Qualifier

AMMAN: South Korea is set to face Palestine in a World Cup qualifying match next month in Jordan, selected as a neutral venue due to an ongoing conflict involving Israel. The match, part of the third round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, will be held at Amman International Stadium on November 19.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the AFC announced that the Group B encounter will kick off at 5 p.m. local time, or 11 p.m. in South Korea. South Korea, under the leadership of coach Hong Myung-bo, is currently leading Group B with 10 points. The team started the third round with a goalless draw against Palestine in Seoul on September 5 and has since secured three consecutive victories, including a 3-2 win against Iraq at home earlier this week.

The South Korean team will have a busy schedule in November, with an initial away match against Kuwait on November 14 before meeting Palestine five days later. The third round of AFC qualification consists of three group
s of six teams each, with the top two teams from each group securing a spot in the World Cup. Teams finishing in third and fourth place will advance to the fourth round of the qualifiers. South Korea has been a regular contender in the World Cup, having participated in every tournament since 1986 in Mexico.
