**South Korean Political Leaders Set to Hold Second Round of Official Talks**

Seoul: The leaders of South Korea’s ruling People Power Party (PPP) and the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) have agreed to engage in a second round of official discussions, aiming to address critical livelihood issues. This decision follows their initial meeting last month, marking a continued effort to bridge gaps on key national concerns.

According to Yonhap News Agency, PPP leader Han Dong-hoon responded positively to DP Chairman Lee Jae-myung’s invitation for further dialogue. The agreement was made public shortly after Lee expressed his hope for productive discussions during a Supreme Council meeting, also extending well-wishes to Han for his upcoming meeting with President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The details regarding the date and agenda of the upcoming meeting are yet to be finalized. This forthcoming discussion represents a significant step since their first official encounter in early September, where the two leaders agreed to collaborate on addressing livelihood issues, despite their differences on o
ther contentious subjects.

The commitment to reconvene follows recent by-elections where the PPP secured two of the four contested seats, indicating a dynamic political landscape. The discussions between Han and Lee also come amidst ongoing controversies involving first lady Kim Keon Hee and debates over various legislative matters, including a bill proposing a special counsel investigation into last year’s death of a Marine. These talks could potentially pave the way for more stabilized political cooperation in facing national challenges.
